After their careers were launched via Pinoy Big Brother:Teen Edition in 2006, the Kim Ciu-Gerald Anderson love team had been going strong until late last year when they admitted that things were not as picture-perfect as it seems. Add to that fact that Gerald was suddenly being linked to Bea Alonzo which got tongues wagging that the two young stars were definitely going down separate paths. With Kim busy doing the teleserye Binondo Girl and numerous other projects lined up for the year, she says their friendship has settled into a comfortable level once again.
During the launch of Mark Nicdao’s Vantage Magazine last March 6 at the Fashion Walk at Greenbelt 5 in Makati City, the pretty chinita came to support the event which featured an intimate portrait of her and Gerald in the exhibit. “Matagal na yan, nung Metro Magazine shoot pa namin yan. Okay naman kami ni Gerald. Yung samahan nandun pa rin. Yung communication nandun pa rin. Masaya ako para sa kanya kasi andaming magagandang nangyayari sa kanya ngayon and nakaka-proud. Ka-loveteam ko siya dati and now iyun,” she comments.
The slim 20 –year-old also shares how overwhelming it felt to be part of the Vantage exhibit and silent auction. “Masaya ako dahil parang dati ako lang yung nakatingin-tingin sa mga pictures na ganyan pero ngayon nakikita ko na yung self ko na nasa malaking event na ‘to. Siyempre si Mark Nicdao, ang galing na photographer sobra. Nakaka-proud na maging part ng ganitong event, na makita yung picture ko kasama sa maraming mga mukha na nandun,” she adds.
When asked how she felt when Gerald admitted that she was his first love on a recent TV guesting, Kim looked visibly surprised at the very public revelation. “Ang taray naman ni Gerald, hindi ko napanuod yan ha. Teka totoo ba yan? (laughs). Hindi ko alam, ngayon ko lang narinig. Teka lang, naloka ako. Siyempre thank you kay Gerald dahil sinabi niya yun. Siyempre nakakatuwa isipin na ganun pa rin yun. Siyempre nakaka-flatter and nakakatuwa pakinggan na may ganun,” she admits.
For her part, Kim also admits that she also considers the Buhawi Jack star her first love. “Sa part ko, siyempre. Oo naman siya,” she says. Despite both them being single again, the pretty chinita says the thought of a possible reconciliation in the future has not entered her mind, although she is not closing her doors on it either. “Depende sa tao and depende sa panahon at sa pangyayari. Hindi natin alam kung ano pa yung mangyayari. Pero naniniwala ako sa true love. Yun, yun talaga,” she shares.
With regards to the issue of Simon Atkins courting her, Kim says she has yet to really get to know the De La Salle University cager to be able to know if he could be considered as a future boyfriend. “Hindi ko pa alam. Tingnan natin. Okay naman siya. Funny and may sense of humor. May sense siya kausap, ganyan. Hindi pa kami nakakapag-usap talaga, busy rin kasi ang schedules namin,” she admits. Kim also felt flattered by the news that Simon is supposedly asking help from Enchong Dee to be able to ask her out. “Hindi ko kasi alam kung anong sasabihin. Kung anong tamang word para dun pero salamat dahil naghahanap siya ng way para mag-meet kami, yun lang. I’m flattered. Hindi ko alam eh. Wala akong masabi (laughs). Hindi ko alam,” she shyly says.
