For the first time in his showbiz career, John Lloyd Cruz agreed to go daring in his movie Unofficially Yours, a romantic comedy that talks about whether or not a casual relationship could turn into a serious commitment in the end. Since he’s not used to doing sexy scenes, John Lloyd shared that it helped that his co-star, Angel Locsin, is also willing to do whatever it takes to make their characters really credible on screen.
“Nakatulong na si Angel very supportive and very open. Bilang isang leading man at meron kang kapareho na tulad ni Angel na very willing to cope with the sexy scenes… Wala kang maramdaman na, ‘Hey, ingatan mo ‘yan.’ Walang ganon. Malaking bagay yun sa akin kasi naging fluid yung motion, yung interaction namin… I just got lucky kasi hindi lahat kagaya niya, bihira, so thank you Angel,” said John Lloyd during the grand press con of Unofficially Yours last February 1.
Despite their initial apprehensions, John Lloyd was glad that they accomplished what needed to be done for the movie. “Maganda yung kinalabasan before, during and after ng shooting ng love scenes. Wala akong masasabing hindi maganda kasi napaka-fluid nung paggawa namin ng eksena.” He added that he really finds Angel sexy in this film. “Napaka-sexy niya at maraming mag-a-agree sa akin na lalaki at babae na she’s deserving to be FHM’s number 1 sexiest woman in the country.”
For someone whose love life is always in the spotlight, John Lloyd also gave his opinion about handling complicated relationships in real life. “Unofficial or official man yung relasyon, do whatever works for you. Kung ano man yung set up niyo, kung ano man yung napag-usapan niyo… Pwedeng unofficial pero exclusive. Pwedeng official pero you can date around. Basta kung ano ang napagkasunduan niyo, stick to that and protektahan niyo kung ano man ang agreement niyo.”
Personally speaking, John Lloyd admitted that the troubles between him and girlfriend Shaina Magdayao are finally over. “Oo, official na I’m in a relationship. Hindi lang ngayon. It’s official for quite some time already. Siguro ang mashe-share ko for now, hanggang dun lang muna—nagkahiwalay [kami], inayos [namin yung problema] then we got back together. Hindi naman kami starting all over again, dahil hindi naman talaga natapos. Okay na kami and papunta sa maganda yung relasyon namin ngayon.”
