Real-life sweethearts Nikki Gil and Billy Crawford surprised their avid supporters when they both sat for the MYX live chat last July 7. Billy was only supposed to be there to give VJ Nikki his moral support, but since online fans kept asking about their relationship, Nikki invited him to join her in the chat.
The couple were playful on and off the webcam. While Nikki has previously stated that she wants to keep their relationship on a low profile, they were openly affectionate with Billy either putting his head or his arm around her shoulders.
The international hip-hop artist kept teasing Nikki about trivial stuff including her lack of kitchen knowhow, to which the latter replied, “I can bake! I don’t cook, but that doesn’t make me a lesser person.” Billy also revealed that he wasn’t able to sleep the day he fetched Nikki from the airport when she came home from the Star Magic World Concert Tour. Apparently, he was already there at 3:30 am, but Nikki’s flight came in at a much later hour. “Bakit? Sinabi ko bang nandun ako ng 4:30 am? Bakit nandun ka na? Sinabi ko bang huwag ka matulog? Pwede ka naman matulog ah! Sana maghintay ka na lang dun,” the pretty host-actress joked.
Lots of chatters commented that Nikki looks radiant these days to which Billy replied that it’s all because of “love.” Though a bit uncomfortable whenever her boyfriend would go into details about their commitment to each other, she admitted that they have identical rings (thanks to an online fan’s astute observation) to remind them when they officially became a couple. “Hala! Explain natin ngayon ‘yan. It’s a friendship ring and since it’s a Swatch parang you can turn the number thing to change the dates. Wala lang, basta secret na lang kung anong nandun.”
While Nikki tried to avoid questions about marriage, she mentioned in passing that she and Billy have talked about living in Australia when they decide to quit showbiz. “We would love that. I love Sydney! Yun nga pinag-uusapan natin, and not just us, but even Iya (Villania and Drew Arellano plus) Angelica (Panganiban) and Derek (Ramsay). We were saying na if we were to retire at some point and choose to live the country, maganda sa Australia.” She further shared that she had tried to see what her and Billy’s future babies would look like through a “program on the internet where you can morph pictures.”
At the end of the MYX live chat, Nikki unintentionally blurted out a secret about her fellow VJs. “Lahat ng VJs ng MYX niligawan ni Luis (Manzano). Ako lang ang hindi. And I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. At ito pa ang mas interesting na trivia, hindi interesting na trivia na hindi ako niligawan ni Luis. Ang mas interesting ay nagka-something si VJ Iya at si VJ Luis (vomits in jest).” This caused Billy to say that she was giving out too much information about her friends. Nikki reacted with, “Everyone knows that. It’s public knowledge. Oh my! Shoot! I take it back. I’m just kidding. I love you, Iya.”
