Although Nikki Gil admits that she felt relieved after revealing that she and singer Billy Crawford are an item, the possibility of the media prying into their relationship worries her. “Medyo it’s a relief that we don’t have to hide anything anymore,” shares Nikki. “‘Yun na nga lang it opens the door to the public scrutinizing our relationship all the more, which I don’t think is such a good thing but ganun talaga eh! It’s parts and parcel of the business. We just have to deal with it,” she explains. 
 
She stresses that she and Billy are intent on keeping their privacy and not to reveal too much. “Feeling ko nasa tao (involved) din naman ‘yan eh (kung masyado siyang magsasalita) kung lapitin ka rin ng intriga. Pero we’re still maintaining the privacy of our relationship,” she clarifies. “Siguro enough na na alam ng mga tao na meron. Wag nang halukayin ang iba pang detalye.”
 
Nikki explains that the doubts they had earlier in the relationship have prohibited them of confirming the longstanding rumors of a romance between them. But since their relationship has achieved steadier ground, they felt that it was time to admit it. “It was just a mutual thing (to let it out in the open). Parang wala naman talagang nagtatanong exactly na ‘are you together, yes or no’ so parang as much as possible if we could avoid it, we would,” she shares. 
 
Last week on The Buzz, Nikki admited that she and Billy had talks about settling down but nothing is definite yet. She said that she has not really given much thought to the idea of giving up her career in favor of her love life. Right now, she is just glad that she enjoys the best of both worlds -- a flourishing career and a colorful love life. “I’m just enjoying the ride. I’m just enjoying the friendship that we share. It’s obviously inspiring both of us. It’s not damaging our personal lives or our careers so I’m enjoying it.”
