Iza Calzado expressed her full support for John Lloyd Cruz as she attended the premiere night of his movie Unofficially Yours last February 14. “Napakagandang Valentine offering, napakaganda ng storya, nakakatawa. Actually, I would have to congratulate Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, and of course John Lloyd Cruz and Angel Locsin. Ang husay po nila. Favorite scene ko yung napunta sila sa bahay ni John Lloyd tapos yung tatlong friends niya nagaabang sa labas.”
In an interview with Push.com.ph, Iza revealed that she and John Lloyd have been friends long before she entered showbiz. “Hindi ko alam kung anong nangyari sa kanya. Pero siguro makulit siya kasi nga magkaibigan kami. John Lloyd has been a friend since [the time when] I wasn’t an artista,” in reference to John Lloyd’s easy manner with her.
Iza is excited because they’re slated to work together very soon. ABS-CBN insiders say that she’s probably included in the upcoming teleserye of John Lloyd and Bea Alonzo.
“Noon pa lang, napag-uusapan namin, ‘Ano lilipat ka ba? Sabi lilipat ka daw.’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi naman.’ Hindi pa ako sure noon. Tapos nagkakitaan kami, sabi ko nga lilipat ako, narinig na rin niya [bago pa yung announcement]. So nung ASAP, excited kaming dalawa. Sabi ko, ‘Finally, after all these years makakatrabaho na din kita.’”
